FF: Tantalising Touch (Part 1)

Part 1

His sheer proximity was rapidly erasing any form of rational thought from Khushi's mind. One second, she was falling, and the next he pulled her up against him protectively, saving her. She had gripped his arms for dear life, her head leaning against his toned chest. He slowly released her, his fingers lingering on her waist, causing her to shiver inwardly.

Khushi snapped herself back into reality, and gently pushed him away. Why did she think he had changed? He was still the same, cold ASR. He just didn't want her death on his conscience... Not that he had one. She mentally scorned herself for falling into his trap once again. She had just begun to walk away when she felt a hand grab her wrist. Arnav slowly turned her around to face him.

With every step Arnav took forward, Khushi took one back. He kept going until he had cornered her against the wall - a bird catching their prey was the first thought that sprung to Khushi's mind when she saw the hungry look in his eyes. Khushi looked up into his chocolate brown orbs and was mesmerised. His gaze pierced into her soul - a gaze so strong and full of desire that she had no choice but to look away.

Her cheeks were burning, her heart racing so fast that she felt it would burst out of her chest any second.
"A-Arnav j-ji?" Her voice shook as she saw him lift his hand, and ever-so-gently stroke her face, teasing her, leaving a burning trail where his fingers had been. Fireworks exploded in the pit of her stomach, and she was overwhelmed by the torrent of feelings.

In his eyes, she saw desire but there was something else - something that he had tried to conceal but failed. His eyes displayed confusion, concern, regret all at once. He inched closer, wreaking havoc with Khushi's heartbeat. He slowly moved a stray strand of hair from Khushi's face.
"Khushi?" That one word uttered from his mouth held all the emotion that couldn't be conveyed through his eyes. He moved closer, and closer...

Until Khushi forcefully pushed him away.
